Valentine Specimen Art

I have seen so much specimen art and thought I needed to try my hand....

I found these hearts at the dollar store....took the stick out and cut the hearts in half...
(little tip: don't use a serrated knife!)

Dug through ALL the frames...and I mean ALL the frames :)

And found the perfect one...

Put left over wrapping paper...yes it is...HOUNDSTOOTH...I am a little obsessed!

Hot glued the hearts onto the glass...

And here is the finished product...

Nice, simple and quick! And...only $2 for the packages of hearts!

Eight is Great

For those wanting to know what we did for "Eight is Great" here it all is....

Get ready...their are a lot of pics....

We had two tables set up in the front of the room. One had pics of those who were baptized last year as well as scout books, activity day projects, programs and baptism books...
Here is a close up of the baptism guide/journal book and the programs...The book has all the information parents would need to help plan the day as well as papers the children can fill out with how they felt, who was there, and pictures of the day.

The food table looked SOOOO cute! We went with the primary colors and wanted a fun birthday theme to get the kids excited for their upcoming birthday!

Here is the banner we hung at the front...

We cut a lot of little 8's to put on the table as confetti.....
We made figure eight cookies as a center piece. Each of the kids turning 8 each got one. I found this idea on SugarDoodle. It shows you on there how to make the cookie cutter out of a plastic cup. It really works and is SO easy!
I took the top of a wooden spoon and twisted it around and around to get all the dough out of the two holes for the middle of the eights.

We made little cupcake toothpicks for each cupcake that had an "8" on it.

The primary president found these adorable place mats and I just added vinyl to them :)!
Have I mentioned I REALLY love vinyl?

And here is pictures of the table put together....

It was a fun evening to be with all those little ones! It all came together nicely and was such a fun event to be a part of! Just as a small disclaimer...I did NOT do all this myself! I serve in a great presidency and together with did all this!

Isn't it great to be eight?

I LOVE VINYL

Isn't vinyl just the GREATEST thing ever?
I LOVE IT!

As I mentioned before I serve in primary at my church...
(FYI...the pictures from eight is great are coming soon...I couldn't post more till the event took place...which was yeaterday!)

We change classes at the beggining of the year...which means the names on everything have to change. The class signs, the dismiss signs and the boxes...

I helped with the boxes this last week. I wanted them to look clean and organized...
I think vinyl definitely helped out with this...
What do you think? I love it!

I just cut the vinyl on my circut...you can always use the vinyl stickers you can find at craft stores!

Happy Vinyl Making!

Food For Thought FRIDAY!

So...I think Friday is a good time to post food! I LOVE food!...well there is a catch...I only like GOOD. YUMMY. REAL. GOOD. FOOD.

On Friday's I will be sharing some of my favorite recipes...maybe not every Friday...but I will do my best :)!

So...food at Christmas time is a HUGE tradition...we started ours this year...
Christmas Eve we do CREPES! Yum!
If you have never had one before you HAVE to make them! They are delicious! To get them perfect use very little batter and with a ladle pour the batter on to a non-stick pan and smooth it out with the ladle....
Don't get frustrated...it may take a couple tries!

Then the inside is this...All the FRUIT you could want...and you can't forget this...

Powder sugar, cinnamon and sugar, nutella, and whip cream!
Roll it all together...and you get pure YUMMINESS!

Here is the recipe:
Combine 3 C. flour, 3 TB sugar, 2 1/4 tsp salt in large bowl.
Mix 9 eggs with 4 C. milk then combine bowls, mixing well.
Melt 3/4 C. butter and mix in.
Let stand at least 2 hours in fridge.
To cook, put small amount of oil in fry pan. Put about 2 TB of batter in and turn pan to spread. When light brown/edges looking drier flip.
Fill with Nutella, fruit, cinnamon sugar, syrup, chicken salad, deli meat...

Mess Makeover

I am sure this will come to no shock to you....but three kids...equals MESSES :)!
A good mess means they had fun right....right...?!?!?!?!

Well...this mess I simply could NOT take anymore...
I was starting to sweat just looking at it!

WARNING...these pictures are HORRENDOUS!
(Please don't judge me :))Do you see all the USELESS garbage on the floor...no...GOOD!

For some reason the toys just get pushed to the side at bedtime :)

Here is the pile of everything random :)!

Okay...now that I am hyperventilating...let me show you what I spend an HOUR AND A HALF doing....My hope is when we build our house...(Hopefully this summer)...It has a basement and I want the green rug to be under a table and chairs for the kids...and have a magically little play house area...my girls would love it!(That is why I still have the green rug)
Oh look...my third child is still in PJ's...I mean Kenz finally found her babies! :)

And here is the grand finale! I can finally breath again!
P.S. I LOVE this Ikea shelf to get everything organized!

Happy Organizing!
