Filling the Hole

So, remember when I asked you to pretend that there was a big bushy green plant coming out of my tin rectangle?...well...I did it! Shocker it didn't take weeks I know, so here is the before...
And here is the process of how I got to the after. When I saw that Thrifty Decor Chick re-created of the pottery barn plant (click here to see) I knew that is what I wanted to do. So I set off to the store and found what I thought was the perfect plant for me:

I started by taking off all the small branches and poking them into my foam that I put in the pan. This part was SO easy! I just kept poking till it was what I wanted. After I got it all nice and full this is what it looked like:Nice and bushy:)! Then the part you have all been waiting for....the after on my new entryway table.....
I LOVE it! I love what greenery can do for a room. I will be honest I HATE greenery, but when it is done right it looks awesome! I have learned you just can't buy it and place it. You have to have the right item to put it in, in the right place. That is for me anyway. Hope you all enjoy and dare to do the projects you have wanted to get done:)!

P.S. YES...I know the saying should have "AND" instead of "IN" thank you for the call Jenni...I am fixing it. John told me when he came home so no worries this I know.....thanks for being the one to tell me though Jen!!

Entryway Table

So, this summer has been torture with doing projects. Right before summer started I found out I was prego. So I was waiting till I was done with the first trimester to paint...then I lost the baby...so now I am painting:)! That is why I haven't been doing a whole lot of anything...to sick and tired!! But now all is well and the house projects are finally getting done!

Here is my new entry way table. I have been looking for a long time for one. It can't be too long because I have my garage door that needs to be able to open. So, one day at garage sales I FINALLY found my table. And better yet it was only $8!!!!!!

Here is the before:(which it looked okay, just well, too white!)

Cute huh? I LOVE IT!! but like I said it was a little too white...so I started with painting it off white. I thought I would love it but I didn't. I hated it even more. It looked way to yellow. So after resting from the project for a day I got back to it. I brought it inside to see if the yellow tint would go away, but no it was worse. So, the wheels in my head started to click and I decided to do the same thing I did on my hutch...use stain! I don't even know if you are suppose to do it but I did. I distressed it and then rubbed stain on it and it turned out how my little head wanted it to...I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!

And for the after pics...

Here is the picture of the whole thing! You can't really tell how cool it looks so here is a close up!

Here is a close up of the distressing...oh I just LOVE it!

And for the final put everything together...isn't it great? I love how homey it looks!! When you are looking pretend that the rectangle item has a big bushy green plant in it:) I have to wait to get paid before I can buy the plant:) Hope you all enjoy! This has kept me smiling all day...and I can't stop looking at it!!
